Good morning everybody,
It's mom. I wanted to let you know that things are going well!!! The blood thinner/factor 9 cocktail seems to be working (at least as far as we know). Myles' therapies are doing better every day. I wish that I could say the same for those daily bandage changes. Aaron and Tuyet left for Idaho last night, it is truly amazing how their presence allows a peacefullness in our souls to happen. Myles soooooooooooo loves his brother and it allows me some time to re-coup/group. Buggies is going into surgery this morning to have his central line in his neck removed and a pick line put in his arm. This will allow me to give him his factor as the access on his arms are impossible with the grafting. Aaron and Tuyet took a video of Myles last night and will be posting it on the blog site today (I am totally computer illiterate). I hope it comes out so you can all see Myles talking. The doctors say that he might be discharged from the ICU unit next week (Myles, Aaron, Tuyet, and I all went into shock). There is no transition from ICU burn unit to a regular hospital room. When this happens, we will need to stay at the Ronald McDonald house for about three weeks to come back for outpatient therapy. I assumed that meant bandage changes also but it does not. It takes two nurses over an hour to change his dressings in a room designated just for that purpose and now I need to figure out how I'M going to perform this in the Ronald McDonald bathroom the size of a small closet. I know this is the next step in our journey to finally going home BUT I am very scared. I am sure that Myles and I will figure it out, just not excessively painfully. We are definitely going to have to make a deal on the patience side of this learning process but we have always been a great team (moving to Idaho and such) so I'm sure that we will get through this next step.
Will keep you posted!
Lots of love, hugs, kisses, and thanks from Myles and I.

Myles,Sherry,
See there is light at the end of the tunnel ! Sounds like he is on the road to recovery very fast. He is a stong and determined Dude and is going to pull thru this with flying colors after all. Was really nice here the past few days and suppose to get warm again today. So glad to hear things are for the better and I know you two will get the bandage thing mastered in no time. Be glad the day when you two get to come back home, So we can get together and have a big feast. Take care and we Love you both,
Randy& Kim
What wonderful news!!! With all you've been through, figuring out how to do the bandages will be a minor challenge for you.
You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers daily!
Lots of love!!!! Cousin Dianne and family
Dear Sherry,
I knew in my heart that Myles was getting Better!!! It was like when you saw the Robin. I had FAITH in the Lord and Knew he was with Myles.
I will still continue to pray for you because the next step in Myles' recovery will be very difficult for the two of you.
When I have to change just a little bandaid on Marie or Brian we are screaming at each other and I just have to walk away until they are ready for me. I just PRAY this does not happen with you two. That is why I will pray for Team work.
I will keep singing, yes, keep singing because it always makes me feel better and thinking of you all in Utah.
Love to all of you
cecelia
Whew! We hope to see you guys very soon! We are amazed at Myles' speedy recovery and how he's just knocked those obstacles down with that mighty spirit of his! This is VERY good news! I just want to hug every single one of you, all the doctors, nurses, surgeons... EVERYBODY! Especially my SMYLES!
Love you!

Wow, what nice news to hear! Praise God! I have heard from my cousin whose friends daughter went through burns/therapy and all, that the road to recovery can be up and down. You've seen that, but now you have a light at the end of the tunnel -- hooray! She also said that the friend is now a young woman who has gone to college and really has amazing capabilities in spite of her burns. So, it sounds as if there is a lot to look forward to.
I update my classes at VMS about Myles as often as I see what is written and many of the students come to the blogspot. We are all praying for his recovery and we know that he is a strong, spirited young man. I have missed him!
My daughter is a student at the U of U and we are coming down to visit her Mar. 28 - 31. If it is possible to come by for a VERY BRIEF visit, I would love to come say "hello" to Myles. You know, we have football that has been signed by a lot of the BSU Broncos that we're going to auction on ebay, I don't know if I'll still have it to bring it, but Myles might enjoy seeing it. Also, my contact at BSU wanted to know if Myles would like some football videos and a t-shirt. Please let me know, I could bring it down. Anyway, if a visit doesn't work, that's okay, too. I just thought I'd be in the area and would love to say "hello".
Thanks for sharing the good news. God Bless and Keep the Faith!

Sending lots of love to you all. I've heard that in the Bible the phrase "do no fear" appears 365 times. One for each day of the year. A tiny comfort during your trials. Sherry, God has a firm grip on you and he's not about to let go. You are a strong woman and a loving mother, doing a great job. I know you and Myles are weary travelers on life's road,I pray for your strength to be renewed daily. When I read the other comments, from strangers, friends, and family I am astounded at the impact you are making on all of our lives. During crisis, what is truly important in this life becomes very clear. Give Myles a kiss for me, and a big hug and kiss for you too.
Romans 8:18-I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.
