Myles wrote this poem last year in English class. Wanted to share it with you all.
LISTEN TO ME
(A POEM BY MYLES GANLEY)
LISTEN TO ME AND I HOPE YOU UNDERSTAND.
LISTEN TO ME OR I WILL KEEP QUIET.
I’M YOUR HEART SO LISTEN TO ME AND I WILL BE HAPPY TO GUIDE YOU LOVINGLY.
I CAN BE WRONG, I CAN BE RIGHT.
LISTEN TO ME IF YOU CHOOSE.
I WILL MAKE OPINIONS, THOUGHTS, OR EVEN DREAMS.
I’M YOUR MIND.
I CAN’T INSPIRE, THAT IS YOUR HEART. SO LISTEN TO ME IF YOU CHOOSE,
BUT YOUR HEART SPEAKS FOR ITSELF.

I remember this poem. It's impossible to remember all that my kids write, but I remember this. It's beautiful and even more poignant now. Myles, your heart is as strong as it ever was. I've had students over the years who've turned out to be heroes to me. You are another very special, very unique, very strong, very important hero in my life. I love you, baby. Sherry, Aaron, and Tuyet, I love you too. You are not out of my mind for even a moment. Your heart will continue to guide us all lovingly. And we are most grateful.

Awesome poem. I hear your heart Myles, even in Virginia . . . .I feel it. It was good to talk to my long lost brother Eugene. He too, is included in my prayers. Cause God answered one of them . .. to speak to Eugene. Thank you Lord!

Hello Myles.
I loved your poem. I am here to hear you and to listen. My next wish is to have you read that poem to me. I was so glad to hear from your dad. I have not spoken to him in over three years. I miss you all. I will continue to pray for you more and more and more tonight.

Dear Myles, Sherry,
Aaron and Tuyvet,
You are in our thoughts and prayers. I have asked many to be in prayer for you and I know that they are praying. People around the country are praying for you all! Who knows, maybe even around the world!
We miss you at VMS, Myles, and I have tried to keep my students updated on your progress. Be strong, Myles, so that you can heal. That is my prayer for you.
I hope and pray that you all know that God loves you no matter what. And, I believe that Jesus is walking with you through this time, even though you may not sense his presence. It's kind of like the poem about footprints in the sand, when there was only one set, that is when Jesus was carrying us through the time of trial.
We love you and are keeping you in our prayers.

We r still having the prayer chain goin!!! Hopefully they r working!! well if u can,Sherry, call or let us know what is goin on. we have no fun with out knowing that Myles is doing alright. (I cried so hard the last few nights when it first had happend!) Well tell Everyone Hi and tell them that we have everyone that we know prayen...we made a video for Myles and we will send it when we get a chance!! THERES A HERO IN EVERYONE....BUT THERE IS ONE HERO IN THE WORLD THAT SURVIVED AN INSEDENT THAT LEAVES A MARK OF A HERO. THAT HERO IS MYLES GANLEY!!! HE SURVIVED A BURN THAT WAS SO TRAGIC THAT HE HAD TO BE SENT TO SALT LAKE BURN CENTER. THE NEXT DAY HE DID VERY WELL BUT NO SLEEP WHAT SO EVER. MYLES IS IN DOUBLE ICU FOR HIS BLOOD PREASURE GOING DOWN. BUT WHEN WE CALLED EVERYONE TO PREPARE THE PRAYER CHAIN IT WORKED...FOR THE NEXT DAY HE HAD 70/40 PRECENT ACCURATE.....AS WE STILL PRAY AND HOPE, MYLES HAS A FUTURE TO STAY ALIVE FOR THE LORD. GOD IS WITH SHERRY,AARON,TUYET,AND MYLES!! AS WE GO ON WITH THE PRAYERS AND HOPES OF MYLES AND EVERYONE THERE TO BE IN GOD'S LOVE AND DREAMS...

I happened to come across this story after looking up something else and have not been able to get you guys off my mind. About 5 years ago my middle son had been burned on both feet and hands from coals in a fire plaqce at a campground. He was only two and it happened so fast-we can only imagine that he thought maybe it was a sand box and he stepped in it and burnt his feet and fell forward and that is how he burnt his hands. It was awful so I can only imagine what you are going through!! It is amazing how these kids find the strength but they say behind every good kid is a great mom (family) and I believe that is what helps! There strenght keeps us going and our strength keeps them going. We ended up having to get several different surgeries on his hands and will most likely need more the older he gets but we will cross that bridge when we get to it.
