Their First Day

Myles had a great day at school. He was pretty tired when he got home as he is not used to waking up at 6:30 in the morning. Hope had a pretty good first day too. She is doing great for only being a day old. I took her out to play with the other babies but they didn't play nice so she hung out with Myles.

God’s Poetry
Friday, August 24, 2007
“We are his workmanship.”
Ephesians 2:10 NKJV

Scripture calls the church a poem. “We are His workmanship” (Eph. 2:10). Workmanship descends from the Greek word poeo or poetry. We are God’s poetry! What Longfellow did with pen and paper, our Maker does with us. We express his creativity best.

You aren’t God’s poetry. I’m not God’s poetry. We are God’s poetry. Poetry demands variety. “God works through different men in different ways, but it is the same God who achieves his purposes through them all” (I Cor. 12:6 Phillips). God uses all types to type his message. Logical thinkers. Emotional worshipers. Dynamic leaders. Docile followers. The visionaries who lead, the studious who ponder, the generous who pay the bills…Alone, we are meaningless symbols on a page. But collectively, we inspire.

Myles, could you be any cuter? The baby goat's cute too, but nothing compared to you!

Much love and continued prayers. Hope all is good!

Run to Him!
Monday, August 27, 2007
“His love has taken over our lives; God’s faithful ways are eternal.”
Psalm 117:2 MSG

God’s love for you is not dependent on how you look, how you think, how you act, or how perfect you are. His love is absolutely nonnegotiable and nonreturnable. Ours is a faithful God.

No matter what you do, no matter how far you fall, no matter how ugly you become, God has relentless, undying, unfathomable, unquenchable love from which you cannot be separated. Ever!

Run to Jesus. Jesus wants you to go to him. He wants to become the most important person in your life, the greatest love you’ll ever know. He wants you to love him so much that there’s no room in your heart and in your life for sin. Invite him to take up residence in you heart.

Myles,

Hope school is going well, and you're not too tired. Kaitlin starts school on the 4th of Sept. she'll be a SENIOR! Ouch, my last baby. She's an awesome kid, you would love her. As I know she would LOVE you. As she already does. Let me know how the farm is going. Those goats are way too cute.

Much love and continued prayers.

Working to Please God
Tuesday, August 28, 2007
“Work as if you were serving the LORD, not as if you were serving only men and women.”
Ephesians 6:7

What if everyone worked with God in mind? Suppose no one worked to satisfy self or please the bottom line but everyone worked to please God.

Many occupations would instantly cease: drug trafficking, thievery, prostitution, nightclub and casino management. Certain careers, by their nature, cannot please God. These would cease.

Certain behaviors would cease as well. If I’m repairing a car for God, I’m not going to overcharge his children. If I’m painting a wall for God, you think I’m going to use paint thinner?

Imagine if everyone worked for the audience of One. Every nurse, thoughtful. Every officer, careful. Every professor, insightful. Every salesperson, delightful. Every teacher, hopeful. Every lawyer, skillful.

Impossible? Not entirely. All we need is someone to start a worldwide revolution. Might as well be us.

WOW, what a great idea. Choose nice, Kind, Considerate, it just makes sense doesn't it?!?!?! Hope all is well. How is school Myles? What subjects are you studying this semester? Keep us posted! Much love and continued prayers!

Filled to Overflowing
Wednesday, August 29, 2007
“My cup overflows with blessings.”
Psalm 23:5 NLT

The overflowing cup was a powerful symbol in the days of David. Hosts in the ancient East used it to send a message to the guest. As long as the cup was kept full, the guest knew he was welcome. But when the cup sat empty, the host was hinting that the hour was late. On those occasions, however, when the host really enjoyed the company of the person, he filled the cup to overflowing. He didn’t stop when the wine reached the rim; he kept pouring until the liquid ran over the edge of the cup and down on the table.

Have you noticed how wet your table is? God wants you to stay. Your cup overflows with joy. Overflows with grace.

You have a place at God’s table. And he is filling your cup to overflowing.

Hey Myles . . . sometimes you have to STOP and smell the coffee, so to speak. But when we do, we really can count our many many blessings. I just look at your mom and all her care and that in and of itself is the biggest blessing. And guess what, that is just ONE!

Most important blessing of all, you are loved, more than you'll ever know!

Hey Myles,
I have been so busy this past week with Brian turning 12! and taking him to Football practice everyday.

You look great. You are one good looking young man. (I wanted to say cute, but I know you would rather hear good looking).
Enjoy school. Brian and Marie start on Tuesday!!!!!!!!! I can't wait, they have been home along this week because all the camps have ended for the summer. They are ready to begin school. Brian is going to a new school and Marie will have her best friends in her class again this year (watch out 5th grade).

Love you all. Have fun with the new kid.
