Wound Care went WELL!!!!

Just got back from the hospital and everything went well. A little painful but tolerable. Buggies finger didn't look as well as the Doctor had hoped but he thinks it will look better by Monday's appointment. The large pin sticking out of his finger is pretty intimidating and gave both Myles and I the creeps. The doctor says that the pin and the thirty plus stitches on his finger should probably be able to come out in a week and a half or so. If that is the case, after Mondays visit I think that we will drive back home on Tuesday and fly back here for the day for the removal. Myles has to keep his hand elevated so we really can't do much but hang out in the hotel. I AM GOING CRAZY........ I was so busy getting ready for the trip, packing all the factors, syringes, wound care stuff, etc., the drive, the surgery, to all of a sudden just sit in a hotel room is like running into a brick wall for me. Anyone who knows me knows that I never ever sit down. At least at home, Myles can be comfortable and I can do SOMETHING. Type A personality you think! All for now and will update after Monday's visit.

I've heard of people getting itchy after certain medications. I didn't know it got that severe though. I'm very glad you haven't had to experience anything to the effect of what you had to deal with in Feb. I love you all very much and I'm so glad to see you smiling. I love you!!!!!!!

Good Morning to All,
We have been running around all weekend. I have been praying like crazy for you Myles and I am so happy to hear that the surgery went well. I cannot even imagine what you are going through right now, but if anyone can do it, IT is you Myles. God bless you.

Your Aunt Kate and cousin Brian ran a 5 mile race on Sat. Brian ran it in 39 mins. Aunt Kate was right behind him. That is rast! In the No. VA. area the drive to work can take longer than that.

My prayers are with you all always.

Love you
Cecelia

Just Be There

“The person who shows mercy can stand without fear at the judgment.”
James 2:13

Nothing takes the place of your presence. Letters are nice. Phone calls are special, but being there in the flesh sends a message.

After Albert Einstein’s wife died, his sister, Maja, moved in to assist with the household affairs. For fourteen years she cared for him, allowing his valuable research to continue. In 1950 she suffered a stroke and lapsed into a coma. Thereafter, Einstein spent two hours every afternoon reading aloud to her from Plato. She gave no sign of understanding his words, but he read anyway. If she understood anything by his gesture, she understood this—he believed that she was worth his time.

Do you believe in your kids? Then show up. Show up at their games. Show up at their plays…Do you believe in your friends? Show up at their graduations and weddings. Spend time with them. You want to bring out in the best in someone? Then show up.

Sherry,

This is an awesome devotion . . . as you are going crazy being in that small room . . . You're being there is just what the Dr. ordered. The great Physician, that is . . . God himself. Myles, I can't be with in in the physcial sense, but I certainly am in the spiritual sense, as I am sending my continued prayers to you and your family/friends. Much love to you!

Hi Myles! Your sister, brother-in-law and adorable niece came to visit us last week. It was so good to see them. I can't believe how much Amara is talking! Jenna and Ryan are so wonderful with her, and as much as they talk its no wonder she is learning so fast! We looked at the pictures from your birthday party again and couldn't help but laugh at your mohawk! You are silly! Hopefully your sister will email you some photos of Amara, maybe she will read my post and feel guilty if she doesn't! :)
Hope you continue to do well and that you are feeling better soon.
Love to you and your mom, Aaron and Tuyet (and all the animals too!)

More than Family

“Each of us finds our meaning and function as a part of his body.”
Romans 12:5 MSG

If similar experiences create friendships, shouldn’t the church overflow with friendships? With whom do you have more in common than fellow believers? Amazed by the same manger, stirred by the same Bible, saved by the same cross, and destined for the same home. Can you not echo the words of the psalmist? “I am a friend to everyone who fears you, to anyone who obeys your orders” (Ps. 116:63).

The church. More than family, we are friends. More than friends, we are family. God’s family of friends.
