Bowl-a-thon

We had such a great time yesterday bowling, especially Myles who bowled great (he actually got quite a few strikes). I think that is was the most fun that Myles has had in a long time. My love and gratitude goes out to all that came to make the day so special. Our family made so many new friends and enjoyed the time spent with old friends. The hemophilia foundation did a spectacular job at putting this together and allowing all of us to have a blast. We have a new friend and family member.... Daniel LiVolsi came out from Illinois to attend Myles' bowl-a-thon. He belongs to the Illinois hemophilia chapter and blessed us with his company at our house. What a remarkable man at the age of seventeen. Daniel has severe factor eight hemophilia. Daini you are an angel for us as always. Again I want to thank everyone for all that you do and Myles and I will bring all of your love to Salt Lake City with us on Tuesday.
Much love from our family

Hello everyone!
That is awesome news. I am soooo happy that Myles did great and met a friend as well. We have the church members praying for a successful trip and outcome in SLC.

Sherry,
FYI, last week in Fairfax, VA a 17 year old was driving her 14-year-old sister to swim practice when the 17 lost control of the car (yes, she was speeding) and crashed into a telephone pole. The driver was able to walk away without any injuries where as the 14 yo was dead on impact. Why am I telling you sad story? The news reported that THERE WOULD NOT BE ANY CHARGES AGAINST THE 17 YEAR OLD.
I don't understand? Why is your state prosecuting Aaron for something that was an accident and Myles is alive today. And this other girl kills her sister and her only punishment is to live with the guilt of what she did for the remainder of her life?
Where is the justice?

I am now off my soapbox.

You guys have a safe trip tomorrow. May God give you all travel mercies on your journey?

Love to all of you,
Cecelia

God, Your Guardian

"He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you can hide."
Psalm 91:4

The image of living beneath Shaddai’s shadow reminds me of a rained-out picnic. My college friends and I barely escaped a West Texas storm before it pummeled the park where we were spending a Saturday afternoon. As we were leaving, my buddy brought the car to a sudden stop and gestured to a tender sight on the ground. A mother bird sat exposed to the rain, her wing extended over her baby who had fallen out of the nest. The fierce storm prohibited her from returning to the tree, so she covered her child until the wind passed.

From how many winds is God protecting you? His wing, at this moment, shields you. A slanderous critic heading toward your desk is interrupted by a phone call. A burglar en route to your house has a flat tire. A drunk driver runs out of gas before your car passes his. God, your guardian, protects you.

Dear Sherry, Myles and Aaron,

God's wing will guide and protect you!

Much love,
Kate

Hey All!!!
Sorry I haven't been able to post at all lately as I haven't had the internet to even access this site. (Avoid Time Warner like the plague)I was so sorry to hear that Boo's father was also burned, but am extatic that he is making a recovery. It is also wonderful to know that we don't have to worry about Aaron's trial for a few more months. Buggies, I'm so excited for you being able to have the experience of the bowl'a'thon. I was looking at your pictures from your birthday again and I still can't believe how much older you look since I saw you at my wedding. Aaron, Boo, and Mom haven't changed much though. I love the cows. They are so adorable. I vote for Porter and T-Bone...I'd name some cats Timone and Pumba. It's wonderful to know that you've made so many new friends and have received so much support. I hope all is going well and I hope to hear more wonderful news soon. I will check as often as my ISP allows me to ;P

Lots of Love to Everyone,

Jenna S.

Contentment
Wednesday, July 18, 2007

“He who follows righteousness and mercy finds life, righteousness, and honor.”
Proverbs 21:21 NKJV

In our world, contentment is a strange street vendor, roaming, looking for a home, but seldom finding an open door. He moves slowly from house to house, knocking on doors, offering his wares: an hour of peace, a smile of acceptance, a sigh of relief. But his goods are seldom taken. We are too busy to be content.

“Not now, thank you. I’ve too much to do,” we say. “Too many marks to be made, too many achievements to be achieved…”

So the vendor moves on. When I asked him why so few welcomed him into their homes, his answer left me convicted. “I charge a high price, you know. My fee is steep. I ask people to trade in their schedules, frustrations, and anxieties. I demand that they put a torch to their fourteen-hour days and sleepless nights. You’d think I’d have more buyers.” He scratched his beard, then added pensively, “But people seem strangely proud of their ulcers and headaches.”

It's hard sometimes to see all the blessings that we take for granted. But, they're there! Much love to all, and continued prayers! Everyday!

Myles,
God is with you always. When you feel the wind on your check ever so gently, that is God! When you feel the warmth of the sun shine on your face, That is God! Remember, he is with you always! I wish I could be with you now during your stay in SLC. But, I am talking to God and praying that everything will go well.

Love you way too much.

You Make the Choice
Thursday, July 19, 2007

“Be careful what you think, because your thoughts run your life.”
Proverbs 4:23

You are driving to work when the words of your coworker come to mind. He needled you about your performance. He second-guessed your efficiency. Why was he so hard on you? You begin to wonder. I didn’t deserve any of that. Who is he to criticize me? Besides, ha has as much taste as a rice cake. Have you seen those shoes he wears?

At this point you need to make a choice. Am I going to keep a list of these wrongs? You can…

Or you can do something else. You can take those thoughts captive. You can defy the culprit. Quote a verse if you have to: “Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse” (Rom. 12:14 NIV)…

You are not a victim of your thoughts. You have a vote. You have a voice.

I like this devotion a lot! I always say "choose NICE" sometimes that choice kills them. LOL. 'kill them with kindness'

Much love and prayers continue!
