I was driving home from taking Myles to school yesterday and was crossing over the lake. The sunrise was so beautiful. I took this picture with my cell phone but it doesn't do the majesty justice, the lake is partially frozen.
Myles is doing great. He has pretty much got over the hump as far as scar contraction and now his graphs are softening. His range of motion is back to normal as far as we can tell. He will still need to stay in his pressure garments for another six months to a year but he seems to find comfort wearing them. I can't believe how much he has grown lately as he is about a half inch shorter than me (I know, that's not saying alot!). His self-esteem is higher than ever, amazingly. He is truly wise beyond his years.
I hope that everyone has had a chance to catch a snowflake on their tongue this new year.

“Your word is like a lamp for my feet and a light for my path.”
Psalm 119:105
Arthur Hays Sulzberger was the publisher of the New York Times during the Second World War. Because of the world conflict, he found it almost impossible to sleep. He was never able to banish worries from his mind until he adopted as his motto these five words—“one step enough for me”—from the hymn “Lead Kindly Light.”
God isn’t going to let you see the distant scene either. So you might as well quit looking for it. He promises a lamp unto our feet, not a crystal ball into the future. We do not need to know what will happen tomorrow.
God is leading you. Leave tomorrow’s problems until tomorrow
WOW, I needed this devotion more than anyone today! Anyway, I should have stopped and had the snowflakes drift onto my tongue, but i didn't. I need to. Called and left a message last night, hope all is a okay. I intended to call on Saturday, but didn't sleep at ALL friday night, work stuff on my mind, and I fell fast asleep in front of the fireplace. Dwayne had to help me to bed! LOL. I love the pictures, they're great. Much love and continued prayers to all!

Applaud Loud and Often
Tuesday, January 22, 2008
“Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him; talk of all His wondrous works!”
Psalm 105:2 NKJV
God has never taken his eyes off you. Not for a millisecond. He’s always near. He lives to hear your heartbeat. He loves to hear your prayers. He’d die for your sin before he’d let you die in your sin, so he did.
What do you do with such a Savior? Don’t you sing to him? Don’t you declare, confess, and proclaim his name? Don’t you bow a knee, lower a head, hammer a nail, feed the poor, and lift up your gift in worship? Of course you do.
Worship God. Applaud him loud and often. For your sake, you need it.
And for heaven’s sake, he deserves it.
I applaude him . . .look what he's done in your life, LOOK at you licking up snowflakes, what a miracle you are Myles!!
Much love!!

Love Accepts All Things
Wednesday, January 23, 2008
“Love…bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”
Wouldn’t it be nice if love were like a cafeteria line? What if you could look at the person with whom you live and select what you want and pass on what you don’t? What if parents could do this with kids? “I’ll take a plate of good grades and cute smiles, and I’m passing on the teenage identity crisis and tuition bills.”
What if kids could do the same with parents? “Please give me a helping of allowances and free lodging but no rules or curfews, thank you.”
And spouse with spouse? “H’m, how about a bowl of good health and good moods. Bit job transfers, in-laws, and laundry are not on my diet.”
Wouldn’t it be great if love were like a cafeteria line? It would be easier. It would be neater. It would be painless and peaceful. But you know what? It wouldn’t be love. Love doesn’t accept just a few things. Love is willing to accept all things.
AMEN! It's hard to love and accept all things, but so important to do so! Much love and continued prayers for all.

Love for the Least
Friday, January 25, 2008
“I was hungry, and you gave me food. I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink.”
Matthew 25:35
What is the sign of the saved? Their scholarship? Their willingness to go to foreign lands? Their ability to amass an audience and preach? Their skillful pens and hope-filled volumes? Their great miracles? No.
The sign of the saved is their love for the least.
Those put on the right hand of God will be those who gave food to the hungry, drink to the thirsty, warmth to the lonely, clothing to the naked, comfort to the sick, and friendship to the imprisoned.
Did you note how simple the words are? Jesus doesn’t say, “I was sick and you healed me…I was in prison and you liberated me…I was lonely and you built a retirement home for me…” He doesn’t say, “I was thirsty and you gave me spiritual counsel.”
No fanfare. No hoopla. No media coverage. Just good people doing good things.
Basic isn't it. It seems so simple, but we make it so complicated. Much love and continued prayers to all.

Two Sisters
Monday, January 28, 2008
“Since we have been made right with God by our faith, we have peace with God.”
Romans 5:1
Pride and shame. You’d never know they are sisters. They appear so different. Pride puffs out her chest. Shame hangs her head. Pride boasts. Shame hides. Pride seeks to be seen. Shame seeks to be avoided.
But don’t be fooled, the emotions have the same parentage. And the emotions have the same impact. They keep you from your Father.
Pride says, “You’re too good for him.”
Shame says, “You’re too bad for him.”
Pride drives you away.
Shame keeps you away.
If pride is what goes before a fall, then shame is what keeps you from getting up after one.
Isn't this the truth!!! Much love and continued prayers.

Hey Myles, Sherry, and Aaron,
"Hey my friend, it seems your eyes are troubled. Care to share your time with me? Would you say you're feeling low, and so a good idea would be to get it off your mind. See you and me have a better time than most can dream of, better than the best so can we pull on through? Whatever tears at us, whatever holds us down. And if nothing can be done, we'll make the best of what's around...."--Dave Matthews Band
Great words by a great VIRGINIA band, Originated in Charlottsville VA! Much love and continued prayers for ALL
The World Needs Servants
Wednesday, January 30, 2008
“The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”
Mark 10:45 NKJV
The world needs servants. People like Jesus who “did not come to be served, but to serve.” He chose remote Nazareth over center-stage Jerusalem, his dad’s carpentry shop over a marble-columned palace, and three decades of anonymity over a life of popularity.
Jesus came to serve. He selected prayer over sleep, the wilderness over the Jordan, irascible apostles over obedient angels. I’d have gone with the angels. Given the choice, I would have built my apostle team out of cherubim and seraphim or Gabriel and Michael, eyewitnesses of Red Sea rescues and Mount Carmel falling fires. I’d choose the angels.
Not Jesus. He picked the people. Peter, Andrew, John, and Matthew. When they feared the storm, he stilled it. When they had no coin for taxes, he supplied it. And when they had no wine for the wedding or food for the multitude, he made both.
Hope all is well. We're all SICK in No VA, most of us have been dealing with a stomach bug. It's not pretty!!

The Last Step

“He will change our simple bodies and make them like his own glorious body.” Philippians 3:21
Which word describes your body? My cancerous body? My arthritic body? My deformed body? My crippled body? My addicted body? My ever-expanding body? The word may be different, but the message is the same: These bodies are weak. They began decaying the minute we began breathing.
And, according to God, that’s a part of the plan. Every wrinkle and every needle take us one step closer to the last step when Jesus will change our simple bodies into forever bodies. No pain. No depression. No sickness. No end.
This is not our forever house. It will serve for the time being. But there is nothing like the moment we enter his door.
WOW!! That's an awesome promise. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!
