My hundreds of tulips and daffodils are coming up! We have all been real busy now that the snow is gone. What a winter, not that cold, just lots of snow. Myles is doing really good and continues to grow at an alarming rate. He golfed 18 holes last weekend with Aaron, Tuyet, and his best friend Dave (Dave's first time) and he continues to beat Aaron (ha, ha). I have been busy starting up my new buisness, ORGANIC GARDENING. Just starting with about a third of an acre to see how it goes. So much to learn as it is highly regulated but I got my 100% Organic certification. I still need to go to some more classes. Hopefully I will have a vegetable stand on my property and will also sell at the Farmer's Market on Saturdays. The field is plowed and waiting for me to start planting when it warms up.
Having trouble coming up with a name, my choices so far are:
Stella's Farm (my mom's name)
Our Side Farms (in reference to our side of the lake)
Fence Post Farms
Any ideas?

He Is Your God

“I am God and not a human; I am the Holy One, and I am among you.”
Hosea 11:9
Before you read any further, reflect on those last four words, “I am among you.” Do you believe that? Do you believe God is near? He wants you to. He wants you to know he is in the midst of your world. Wherever you are as you read these words, he is present. In your car. On the plane. In your office, your bedroom, your den. He’s near.
God is in the thick of things in your world. He has not taken up residence in a distant galaxy. He has not removed himself from history. He has not chosen to seclude himself on a throne in an incandescent castle.
He has drawn near. He has involved himself in the carpools, heartbreaks, and funeral homes of our day. He is as near to us on Monday as on Sunday. In the schoolroom as in the sanctuary. At the coffee break as much as the communion table.
I know he's in the GARDEN too!! I like all three names, so I'm not sure that I'm good about helping. But I'll keep thinking. Myles, Keep swinging the club! That's awesome, what great exercise! Much love and continued prayers to all.

Peace Through Prayer
Monday, March 17, 2008
“God’s peace…will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:7
The worrisome heart pays a high price for doing so. Worry come from the Greek word that means “to divide the mind.” Anxiety splits us right down the middle, creating a double-minded thinker. Rather than take away tomorrow’s trouble, worry voids today’s strength. Perception is divided, wasting your energy. Who can afford to lose power?
But how can we stop doing so? Paul offers a two-pronged answer: God’s part and our part. Our part includes prayer and gratitude. “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done” (Phil. 4:6 NLT, emphasis mine).
God’s part? “If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand” (Phil. 4:7 NLT).
Hope you all are enjoying the approaching spring! I love the birds! Much love, ~aunt k8
God’s Testimony
Tuesday, March 18, 2008
“The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.”
Psalm 19:7 NKJV
A small seed becoming a towering tree. A thin stalk pushing back the earth. A rainbow arching in the midst of the thundercloud…
“God’s testimony,” wrote David, “makes wise the simple.”
God’s testimony. When was the last time you witnessed it? A stroll through knee-high grass in a green meadow. An hour listening to seagulls or looking at seashells on the beach. Or witnessing the shafts of sunlight brighten the snow on a crisp winter dawn…
There comes a time when we should lay down our pens and commentaries and step out of our offices and libraries. To really understand and believe in the miracle on the cross, we’d do well to witness God’s miracles every day.
Amen and Amen, People just need to open their eyes, and their hearts. ~aunt K8
Free to Enter His Presence
Wednesday, March 19, 2008
“When Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit. At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.”
Matthew 27:50-51 NIV
It’s as if the hands of heaven had been gripping the veil, waiting for this moment. Keep in mind the size of the curtain—sixty feet tall and thirty feet wide. One instant it was whole; the next it was ripped in two from top to bottom. No delay. No hesitation.
What did the torn curtain mean? For the Jews it meant no more barrier between them and the Holy of Holies. No more priests to go between them and God. No more animal sacrifices to atone for their sins.
And for us? What did the torn curtain signify for us?
We are welcome to enter into God’s presence—any day, any time. God has removed the barrier that separates us from him. The barrier of sin? Down. He has removed the curtain.
That's awesome. I like no "go between". Direct connection, who wouldn't want that.? Much love and continued prayers for all.

A Cloak of Love
Monday, March 24, 2008
“Love…always protects.”
I Corinthians 13:4-7 NIV
When Paul said, “Love always protects,” he might have been thinking of a coat. One scholar thinks he was. The Theological Dictionary of the New Testament is known for its word study, not its poetry. But the scholar sounds poetic as he explains the meaning of protect as used in I Corinthians 13:7. The word conveys, he says, “the idea of covering with a cloak of love.”
Remember receiving one? You were nervous about the test, but the teacher stayed late to help you. You were far from home and afraid, but your mother phoned to comfort you. You were innocent and accused, so your friend stood to defend you. Covered with tender-hearted care. Covered with protection. Covered with a cloak of love.
Hope you had a great Easter!! It was great here!! Beautiful day, good times with friends and family!!!
much love!

Life Is Not Fair
Wednesday, March 26, 2008
“Love your neighbor as you love yourself.”
Galatians 5:14
As long as you hate your enemy, a jail door is closed and a prisoner is taken. But when you try to understand and release your foe from your hatred, then the prisoner is released and that prisoner is you.
Perhaps you don’t like that idea. Perhaps the thought of forgiveness is unrealistic. Perhaps the idea or trying to understand the Judases in our world is simply too gracious.
My response to you then is a question. What do you suggest? Will harboring the anger solve the problem? Will getting even remove the hurt? Does hatred do any good? Again, I’m not minimizing your hurt or justifying their actions. But I am saying that justice won’t come this side of eternity. And demanding that your enemy get his or her share of pain will, in the process, be most painful to you.
May I gently but firmly remind you of something you know but may have forgotten? Life is not fair. That’s not pessimism; it’s fact.
AIN'T it the truth. WOW. I shared that with others, cause everyone needs to read that devotion, and I mean everyone. Hope all is good. Much love and continued prayers to all,
Aunt k8
Reliability
Thursday, March 27, 2008
“He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much.”
Luke 16:10 NKJV
There is a common denominator in any form of greatness—reliability.
It’s the bread and butter characteristic of achievement. It’s the shared ingredient behind retirement pens, Hall of Fame awards, and golden anniversaries. It is the quality that produces not momentary heroics but monumental lives.
The Bible has its share…Consistent and predictable, these saints were spurred by a gut-level conviction that they had been called by no one less than God himself. As a result, their work wasn’t affected by moods, cloudy days, or rocky trails. Their performance graph didn’t rise and fall with roller-coaster irregularity. They weren’t addicted to accolades or applause nor deterred by grumpy bosses or empty wallets…And since their loyalty was not determined by their comfort, they were just as faithful in dark prisons as they were in spotlighted pulpits.
So, did you figure out a name yet? Can't wait. It's raining today in NO. VA. Cold and rainey. Oh well, spring showers, bring May flowers. Much love and continued prayers for all.
