Myles is Growing Up

I can't believe how much Myles is changing now. Toby, our quarter horse, was full of mud so we decided to take some cool pictures.

No Price Is Too High
Tuesday, February 12, 2008
“We had to celebrate and be happy because your brother…was lost, but now he is found.”
Luke 15:32

When our oldest daughter, Jenna, was two, I lost her in a department store. One minute she was at my side and the next she was gone. I panicked. All of a sudden only one thing mattered—I had to find my daughter. Shopping was forgotten. The list of things I came to get was unimportant. I yelled her name. What people thought didn’t matter. For a few minutes, every ounce of energy had one goal—to find my lost child. (I did, by the way. She was hiding behind some jackets!)

No price is too high for a parent to pay to redeem his child. No energy is too great. No effort too demanding. A parent will go to any length to find his of her own.

So will God.

Mark it down. God’s greatest creation is not the flung stars or the gorged canyons; it’s his eternal plan to reach his children

amen!! Much Love and continued prayers for all. Myles, the pictures are great. What a handsome guy!!

He Chose the Cross
Wednesday, February 13, 2008
“You did not save yourselves; it was a gift from God.”
Ephesians 2:8

Jesus’ obedience began in a small town carpentry shop. His uncommon approach to his common life groomed him for his uncommon call. “When Jesus entered public life he was about thirty years old” (Luke 3:23 MSG)…In order for Jesus to change the world, he had to say good-bye to his world.

He had to give Mary a kiss. Have a final meal in the kitchen, a final walk through the streets. Did he ascend one of the hills of Nazareth and think of the day he would ascend the hill near Jerusalem?

He knew what was going to happen. “God chose him for this purpose long before the world began” (I Pet. 1:20 NLT). Every ounce of suffering had been scripted—it just fell to him to play the part.

Not that he had to. Nazareth was a cozy town. Why not build a carpentry business? Keep his identity a secret?...To be forced to die is one thing, but to willingly take up your own cross is something else.

WOW, Northern, VA is a total sheet of ICE> It's beautiful, but treaterous on the roads. Much love and continued prayers to all.

“God Is! God Is!”

“If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.”
Psalm 139:8 NIV

It is the normality not the uniqueness of God’s amazing miracles that causes them to be so staggering. Rather than shocking the globe with an occasional demonstration of deity, God has opted to display his power daily. Proverbially. Pounding waves. Prism-cast colors. Birth, death, life. We are surrounded by miracles. God is throwing testimonies at us like fireworks, each one exploding. “God is! God is!”

The psalmist marveled at such holy handiwork. “Where can I go from your Spirit?” he questioned with delight. “Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there” (Ps. 139:7-8 NIV).

We wonder, with so many miraculous testimonies around us, how we could escape God. But somehow we do. We live in an art gallery of divine creativity and yet are content to gaze only on the carpet.

Hey all. It's going to get warm here today. 39-45 degrees LOLOLOL. Brrrrrrrrrrrrr. Hope all is well with you all. Much love and continued prayers!

You Are God’s Idea
Friday, February 15, 2008
“Before I made you in your mother’s womb, I chose you.”
Jeremiah 1:5

God planned and packed you on purpose for his purpose.

Heaven’s custom design.

At a moment before moments existed, the sovereign Star Maker resolved, “I will make ________________.” Your name goes in the blank. Then he continued with, “And I will make him/her__________, __________, and __________.” Fill those blanks with your characteristics. Insightful. Clever. Detail oriented. Restless. And since you are God’s idea, you are a good idea. What God said about Jeremiah, he said about you: “Before I made you in your mother’s womb, I chose you. Before you were born, I set you apart for a special work.”

Set apart for a special work.

WOW Myles, did you read that! I set you apart for a special work. And if anyone should know that, you should. You've been tested and tested! Much love and continued prayers. I'm off to Haiti . . .I'll write when I return. Pray for ME!
