I am getting a lot of e-mails, phone calls, questions about how we can, as a community/family, help Aaron. I do not know, as we have never dealt with the judicial system before. If anyone has any ideas please let me know, We are grateful to have never been in this situation before neither for myself or my children. I am also grateful for any ideas as how to go about getting the word out that my son didn't mean for this to happen and will "punish" himself for the rest of his life. I pray that he forgives himself so he can continue to be the loving brother to buggies as he has always been.
Appreciation seems like a trivial word,
Sherry

My daughter was wondering if we could do a protest at the courthouse.
unbelievable!!!!! I just got on the blog for the first time in awhile. I check it once a week or so, seeing that nothing bad is happening to Myles. But here we go again. I am so sorry Sherry and Myles, that you have to go though this unnecessary pain. Sure Aaron did a dumb thing, but my god why is the court system so blind as not to see that. I know that the judicial system is supposed to be blind, but stupid at the same time, come on!!!!!!!!
I will again start praying, that the prosecutor will see that he is causing more pain then good in his effort to seek justice were justice has already been served. Aarons life long sorrow for what he mistakenly did will be enough of a sentence. It befuddles me why this is happening. What good will this do. Who is this serving. No one, I can say that for sure I hope the Judge sees this. That is my pray.
Well now I have to start my worries and prays all over. I hope that court room is not filled with stupid lawyers, or judges. So many jokes out there about them. But now it’s hit home.
Remember God has been with you so far there is no way He’s leaving you now nor will he ever leave you.
Love to all
Ned-Ed
sorry I had to use anonymous, the stupid thing would not take my pass-word.
Perfect Peace
Thursday, May 17, 2007
“His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7 NLT
Believing prayer ushers in God’s peace. Not a random, nebulous, earthly peace, but his peace. Imported from heaven. The same tranquility that marks the throne room. God offers to you.
Do you think he battles anxiety? You suppose he ever wrings his hands or asks the angels for antacids? Of course not. A problem is no more a challenge
to God than a twig is to an elephant. God enjoys perfect peace because God enjoys perfect power.
And he offers his peace to you. A peace that will “guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” Paul employs a military metaphor here. The Philippians, living in a garrison town, were accustomed to the Roman entries maintaining their watch. Before any enemy could get inside, he had to pass through the guards. God gives you the same offer. His supernatural peace overshadows you, …guarding your heart.
Dear Myles Sherry and Aaron,
There MUST be compassion in this world. I know that I keep bringing up the blog, but I can't believe that the court system won't look at the love and support for ALL members of your family. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, we'll be there . . . let me know when the court date is, and the time, and we'll be there. Aaron, hang in there!
Much love,
Kate
I do not know any of you other then through the media and this blog. But i too feel that the justice system is making a big mistake in prosecuting Aaron. Please know that there are lots of us out there supporting you. Wish there was something I could do to make all this go away for you all.
I can feel your frustration on a much smaller scale. When my daughter was in the 8th grade she took a cd from another student. When the school resource officer called me in, I assured him she would be punished.
Her punishment was to write a letter of appology to the student, buy a gift certificate to a local store for the price of the cd (which came from her babysitting money) and she was strictly grounded for two weeks.
Well low and behold about six weeks after the incedent, the resource officer gave the paper work to the county and she was charged with petty theft.
She had to appear before a judge and her punishment by the court was to write a letter of apology(already done), pay for the cd (already done), and do 10 hours of community service (already done, I believe in physical labor when you are grounded).
All this and now she has a petty theft on her record, which was removed when she was 18 if she did not get in any other trouble, she never did. She made a bad choice, which makes her human and she learned from what she did.
My daughter is now 22 and is a very responsible young adult with a very good job and a wonderful new fiance'.
I do not understand the justice system, I know that the punishment that your son has placed on himself is worse than what any court is going to do.
My heart goes out to you and your family, I wish I had some answer to this injustice.
I know how frustrated I was with what happened to my daughter, but my experience was so minor to what you are going thru right now.
Bless you,
I will keep you in my prayers.

“Keep your roots deep in him and have your lives built on him.”
Colossians 2:6
The people God used to change history were a ragbag of ne’er-do-wells and has-beens who found hope, not in their performance, but in God’s proverbially open arms.
Let’s start with Abraham. Though eulogized by Paul for his faith, this Father of a Nation wasn’t without his weaknesses. He had a fibbing tongue that wouldn’t stop! One time, in order to save his neck, he let the word get out that Sarah wasn’t his wife but his sister, which was only half true. And then, not long later, he did it again! “And there Abraham said of his wife Sarah, “She is my sister.”
Twice he traded in his integrity for security. That’s what you call confidence in God’s promises? Can you build a nation on that kind of faith? God can. God took what was good and forgave what was bad and used “old forked tongue” to start a nation.
Hey all!
I passed around the pictures of Myles yesterday in his 'speedo'. People here are hot for you Myles, becareful! LOL. So cute! Aaron, word is spreading for you too. Not that my friends haven't always been praying for you, they NEVER thought it would actually come to this! Hang in there. Keep strong!
Much love to all

Hello everyone,
My heart is very heavy with so many emotions.
I am sad that you all have to go through this Stupid trial.
I am happy that Myles is healing physically.
I am upset that Myles can't heal emotionally because there is injustice in the world.
I am weak because I cannot do anything about any of these emotions except to ask God to step in and help you all overcome with everything that is going in your lives at this moment.
I can only pray that God works on the hearts of the justice dept.
love and prayers to all of you.
Cecelia
Since Channel 6 has been such a major presence in this whole ordeal, perhaps 6 On Your Side can look into the justness of the Prosecutors comments to the camera that he feels this fire was set intentionally. I thought people were innocent until proven guilty. Who made him Judge, Jury and Executioner? There are an increasing number of REAL (premeditated) crimes to be prosecuted out there! Get busy with them and leave this family to heal.
Captured Thoughts
Saturday, May 19, 2007
“We capture every thought and make it give up and obey Christ.”
2 Corinthians 10:5
Capturing thoughts is serious business. It was for Jesus. Remember the thoughts that came his way courtesy of the mouth of Peter? Jesus had just prophesied his death, burial, and resurrection, but Peter couldn’t bear the thought of it. “Peter took Jesus aside and told him not to talk like that…Jesus said to Peter, “Go away from me, Satan! You are not helping me! You don’t care about the things of God, but only about the things people think are important” (Matt. 16:22-23).
See the decisiveness of Jesus? A trashy thought comes his way. He is tempted to entertain it. A cross-less life would be nice. But what does he do? He stands at the gangplank of the dock and says, “Get away from me.” As if to say, “You are not allowed to enter my mind.”
What if you did that. What if you took every thought captive?
Myles and all . . .
It's a beautiful day this morning in Northern VA. I'm off to run a neighborhood 5k with Marie. Celia's little one. I hope I beat her!! LOL. My goal is always to beat a Marshall. JUST KIDDING Celia. (not really) I pray more when I run and get in my zone. It's more of a spiritual experience than exercise. My point . . .you'll all be in my thoughts.
Much love,

God Is Righteous
Sunday, May 20, 2007
“He is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.”
Psalm 112:4 NKJV
Righteousness is who God is. God’s righteousness “endures forever” (Ps. 112:3 NIV) and “reaches to the skies (Ps. 71:19 NIV).
God is righteous. His decrees are righteous (Rom. 1:32). His judgment is righteous (Rom. 2:5). His requirements are righteous (Rom. 8:4). His acts are righteous (Dan. 9:16). Daniel declared, “Our God is right in everything he does” (Dan. 9:14).
God is never wrong. He has never rendered a wrong decision, experienced the wrong attitude, taken the wrong path, said the wrong thing, or acted the wrong way. He is never too late or too early, too loud or too soft, too fast or too slow. He has always been and always will be right. He is righteous.
Hey all! Okay . . . I beat Marie . . . BUT she ran the fastest 5k she's ever run . .. that's awesome. Wait til you meet her! She might look just like a mini Celia . . . she's a mini Kate. I love it! Both Brian and Marie are very loving and they are a joy to be around! Hope all is well, and you've all have had a good weekend. you all, especially Aaron were lifted up in prayer today at our church. Especialy in our Sunday School class. They have definitely kept you all in their prayers. So have faith. God has gotten you through a LOT.
You've loved,

They Couldn't Forget Him
Monday, May 21, 2007
“Jesus is the One whom God raised from the dead. And we are all witnesses to this.”
Acts 2:32
We don’t know where the disciples went when they fled the garden, but we do know what they took: a memory. They took a heart-stopping memory of a man who called himself no less than God in the flesh. And they couldn’t get him out of their minds. Try as they might to lose him in the crowd, they couldn’t forget him.
If they saw a leper, they thought of his compassion.
If they heard a storm, they would remember the day he silenced one.
If they saw a child, they would think of the day he held one.
And if they saw a lamb being carried to the temple, they would remember his face streaked with blood and his eyes flooded with love.
No, they couldn’t forget him. As a result, they came back. And, as a result, the church of our Lord began with a group of frightened men in an upper room.
Myles,
Birthday week . . . WOW, I know you're looking forward to being a teenager! I know Celia is looking forward to flying out. It will be fun to meet everyone I'm sure. I'll come out, when I can bring my Kaitlin girl with me. She's awesome! You would love her to, most people do, and I always add . . .WHO WOULDN'T!
Be good!

Hello Everyone,
I had a great weekend spending time with my family. Brian helped out at the church car wash. He is raising money to go to camp. And, as you have read, Marie ran in a 5k with Aunt Kate. Marie ran it in 26 minutes. The last 800 meters of the run is all UP HILL, they call this hill "Yack Hill".
On Sunday, both Brian and Marie played football. Brian made the extra point for his team plus many great plays and Marie made the only touchdown for her team.
Now, during all this fun we had, you all were never out of my thoughts. There is not one person that I spoke with feel that Aaron should be punished more than he already has to for what has happened. We all are praying that God works on the hearts of the DA and the Judge that they see that this is all wrong.
We love you all and I can't wait to see you all this FRIDAY :) :)

The Proper View of Self
Tuesday, May 22, 2007
“To him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think…be glory.”
Ephesians 3:20-21 NKJV
There are two extremes of poor I-sight. Self-loving and self-loathing. We swing from one side to the other. Promotions and demotions bump us back and forth. One day too high on self, the next too hard on self. Neither is correct. Self-elevation and self-deprecation are equally inaccurate. Where is the truth?
Smack-dab in the middle. Dead center between “I can do anything” and “I can’t do anything” lies “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Phil. 4:13).
Neither omnipotent nor impotent, neither God’s MVP nor God’s mistake. Not self-secure or insecure, but God-secure—a self-worth based in our identity as children of God. The proper view of self is in the middle.
Celia is soooo excited, I wish I could come . . . but will come when Kaitlin can come with me. Hope all is well, you ALL remain in my prayers.

A Robe of Righteousness
Wednesday, May 23, 2007
“You were all clothed with Christ.”
Galatians 3:27
We eat our share of forbidden fruit. We say what we shouldn’t say. Go where we shouldn’t go. Pluck fruit from trees we shouldn’t touch.
And when we do, the door opens, and the shame tumbles in. And we hide. We sew fig leaves …We cover ourselves in good works and good deeds, but one gust of the wind of truth, and we are naked again—stark naked in our own failure.
So what does God do? Exactly what he did for our parents in the garden. He sheds innocent blood. He offers the life of his Son. And from the scene of the sacrifice the Father takes a robe—the robe of righteousness. And does he throw it in our direction and tell us to shape up? No, he dresses us himself. He dresses us with himself. “You were all baptized into Christ, and so you were all clothed with Christ.” (Gal. 3:26-27).
We hide. He seeks. We bring sin. He brings a sacrifice. We try fig leaves. He brings the robe of righteousness.
Dear Myles, Sherry and Aaron,
It is a beautiful day in northern virginia. the sky is crisp and blue, the air is cool. I can't wait for work to end so I can RUN!. This is the best time of the year, to get out, clear my end, and PRAY!
I know the NOrthern VA folks are looking forward to their visit, and celebrating your birthday. Even with all the events of this past year. I know you have many many more blessings to focus on.
You all remain,
In my thoughts and prayers,
Aunt K8

Let me know before I leave tomorrow if there is anything you need or want.
Love to all,

The Other Side of the River
Thursday, May 24, 2007
“I want to know Christ and the power that raised him from the dead…Then I have hope that I myself will be raised from the dead.”
Philippians 3:10-11
Jesus saw people enslaved by their fear of death. He explained that the river of death was nothing to fear. The people wouldn’t believe him. He touched a boy and called him back to life. The followers were still unconvinced. He whispered life into the dead body of a girl. The people were still cynical. He let a dead man spend four days in a grave and then called him out. Is that enough? Apparently not. For it was necessary for him to enter the river, to submerge himself in the water of death before people would believe that death had been conquered.
But after he did, after he came out on the other side of death’s river, it was time to sing…it was time to celebrate.
Myles,
HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!
