Hey everybody, this is Myles. Hemophilia camp was awesome. I met lots of new friends with hemophilia and cancer survivors. The rapids were really fun and I flipped my kayak over many many times. Spending time with my brother was really fun and he needed it. It was nice to see him away from the stress of work and just life. I definitely want to go back with Aaron next year because my mom is boring (lol)! The rafting trip was on the Salmon River in Idaho and was very pretty. The water wasn't as cold as the Green River in Utah but it was enough to make you very cold. You can tell that the kids that survived burns are tougher than the kids with hemophilia but each one feels a different pain (I've felt them both!).
Pretty excited about starting High School, it should be fun being with my friends again. I hope that I don't get "bullied" up too much. I'm sure that Aaron will go to my school and fix things if I do. Can't wait for next summer to back to both of the camps.
Love to all, Myles
P.S. Aaron took over two hundred pictures on our trip and is making CD's for everyone. Here is a few of them.

God’s View of Your Life

“You are my place of safety and protection. You are my God and I trust you.”
Psalm 91:2
Have bad things really happened to you? You and God may have different definitions for the word bad. Parents and children do. Look up the word bad in a middle-schooler’s dictionary, and you’ll read definitions such as “pimple on nose,” or “pop quiz in geometry.” “Dad, this is really bad!” the youngster says. Dad, having been around the block a time or two, thinks differently. Pimples pass…
What you and I might rate as an absolute disaster, God may rate as a pimple-level problem that will pass. He views your life the way you view a movie after you’ve read the book. When something bad happens, you feel the air sucked out of the theater. Everyone else gasps at the crisis on the screen. Not you. Why? You’ve read the book. You know how the good guy gets out of the tight spot. God views your life with the same confidence. He’s not only read your story…he wrote it.
Hey Myles!! Great pictures. You and Aaron look very happy, and very relaxed. Much love to you both. Remember that God will protect you from bullies. He is stronger than any ONE> Much love and continued prayers!! My love to your mom, tell her we're back from taking Kaitlin to college, very very very hard. Now, we're off to the beach, to relax and enjoy the beautiful world that God created!! HUGS, Aunt K8
One Church, One Faith
Sunday, August 17, 2008
“Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are.”
John 17:11
“May they all be one,” Jesus prayed.
One. Not one in groups of two thousand. But one in One. One church. One faith. One Lord. Not Baptist, not Methodist, not Adventist. Just Christians. No denominations. No hierarchies. No traditions. Just Christ.
Too idealistic? Impossible to achieve? I don’t think so. Harder things have been done, you know. For example, once upon a tree, a Creator gave his life for his creation. Maybe all we need are a few hearts that are willing to follow suit.
What about you? Can you build a bridge? Toss a rope? Span a chasm? Pray for oneness?
Hey we're at the beach for a week. The outer banks of North Carolina. We're just missing our baby girl. She's doing well.
Getting adjusted to dorm life. Much love and continued prayers. Aunt K8
Store Up the Sweet

“Whatever is true, whatever is honorable,…if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”
Philippians 4:8 RSV
Change the thoughts, and you change the person. If today’s thoughts are tomorrow’s actions, what happens when we fill our minds with thoughts of God’s love? Will standing beneath the downpour of his grace change the way we feel about others?
Paul says absolutely! It’s not enough to keep the bad stuff out. We’ve got to let the good stuff in. It’s not enough to keep no list of wrongs. We have to cultivate a list of blessings: “Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” Thinking conveys the idea of pondering—studying and focusing, allowing what is viewed to have an impact on us.
Rather than store up the sour, store up the sweet.
WOW, store up the sweet, love that. Dwayne always says you can attract more bees with honey than with vinegar. Not that I want to attract any bees, but i get it. Much love and continued prayers to all. We at the BEACH!! Aunt k8
Known for Humility
Tuesday, August 19, 2008
“Don’t cherish exaggerated ideas of yourself or your importance."
Romans 12:3 Phillips
The mightiest of the saints were known for their humility. Though Moses had served as prince of Egypt and emancipator of the slaves, the Bible says, “Moses was…more humble than anyone else” (Num. 12:3 NIV)
The apostle Paul was saved through a personal visit from Jesus. He was carried into the heavens and had the ability to raise the dead. But when he introduced himself, he mentioned none of these. He simply said, “I, Paul, am God’s slave” (Titus 1:1 MSG).
John the Baptist was a blood relative of Jesus and the first evangelist in history, but he is remembered in Scripture as the one who resolved, “He must increase, but I must decrease” (John 3:30 NKJV).
Hey all. The beach is beautiful. Views are awesome. The lighthouse is beautiful, especially at night. Enjoying some time away and relaxation! Much love and continued prayers! ~k8
Honest Worship
Thursday, August 21, 2008
“Take your everyday, ordinary life…and place it before God as an offering.”
Romans 12:1 MSG
Honest worship lifts eyes off self and sets them on God. Scripture’s best-known worship leader wrote: “Give honor to the LORD, you angels; give honor to the LORD for his glory and strength. Give honor to the LORD for the glory of his name. Worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness” (Ps. 29:1-2 NLT).
Worship gives God honor, offers him standing ovations.
We can make a big deal about God on Sundays with our songs and on Mondays with our strengths. Every day in every deed. Each time we do our best to thank God for giving his, we worship. “Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering” (Romans 12:1 MSG). Worship places God on center stage and us in proper posture.
Hey all!! Loving the beach!! Went running on the beach yesterday, and saw wild horses in the dunes. It was AWESOME They say these wild horses have been here since the spanish ship wrecked off the coast of North Carolina. They are beautiful, and it was a surprise to see them. It made my run that much better. Hope all is well!! Continued prayers to all!! ~k8
A Positive Power
Friday, August 22, 2008
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue.”
Proverbs 18:21 NKJV
Nathaniel Hawthorne came home heartbroken. He’d just been fired from his job in the custom house. His wife, rather than responding with anxiety, surprised him with joy. “Now you can write your book!”
He wasn’t so positive. “And what shall we live on while I’m writing it?”
To his amazement she opened a drawer and revealed a wad of money she’d saved out of her housekeeping budget. “I always knew you were a man of genius,” she told him. “I always knew you’d write a masterpiece.”
She believed in her husband. And because she did, he wrote. And because he wrote, every library in America has a copy of The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne.
You have the power to change someone’s life simply by the words that you speak. “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.”
WOW, see what words of encouragement can do! That's an awesome story. Much love to all, and continued prayers!! Aunt k8
God’s Poetry
Monday, August 25, 2008
“We are his workmanship.”
Ephesians 2:10 NKJV
Scripture calls the church a poem. “We are His workmanship” (Eph. 2:10). Workmanship descends from the Greek word poeo or poetry. We are God’s poetry! What Longfellow did with pen and paper, our Maker does with us. We express his creativity best.
You aren’t God’s poetry. I’m not God’s poetry. We are God’s poetry. Poetry demands variety. “God works through different men in different ways, but it is the same God who achieves his purposes through them all” (I Cor. 12:6 Phillips). God uses all types to type his message. Logical thinkers. Emotional worshipers. Dynamic leaders. Docile followers. The visionaries who lead, the studious who ponder, the generous who pay the bills…Alone, we are meaningless symbols on a page. But collectively, we inspire.
Back to work today! :o( It will definitely be different tonight coming home, cause my Missy Kaitlin Girl won't be here. It will be very strange. Much love and continued prayers to all!! Aunt k8
The Christ of Your Mondays
Tuesday, August 26, 2008
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Philippians 4:13 NKJV
Stand and consider:
The Hubble Space Telescope sends back infrared images of faint galaxies that are perhaps twelve billion light-years away (twelve billion times six trillion miles).
Astronomers venture a feeble estimate that the number of stars in the universe equals the number of grains of sand on all the beaches of the world.
The star Betelgeuse has a diameter of 100 million miles, which is larger than the earth’s orbit around the sun.
Why the immensity? Why such vast, unmeasured, unexplored, “unused” space? So that you and I, freshly stunned, could be stirred by this resolve: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
The Christ of the galaxies is the Christ of your Mondays.
hey all!! Back to work . . .summer is ending, Kaitlin's at school, the house is already different. :o(. Hope all is well with all of you, as always, you remain in my thoughts and prayers. K8
Working to Please God
Thursday, August 28, 2008
“Work as if you were serving the LORD, not as if you were serving only men and women.”
Ephesians 6:7
What if everyone worked with God in mind? Suppose no one worked to satisfy self or please the bottom line but everyone worked to please God.
Many occupations would instantly cease: drug trafficking, thievery, prostitution, nightclub and casino management. Certain careers, by their nature, cannot please God. These would cease.
Certain behaviors would cease as well. If I’m repairing a car for God, I’m not going to overcharge his children. If I’m painting a wall for God, you think I’m going to use paint thinner?
Imagine if everyone worked for the audience of One. Every nurse, thoughtful. Every officer, careful. Every professor, insightful. Every salesperson, delightful. Every teacher, hopeful. Every lawyer, skillful.
Impossible? Not entirely. All we need is someone to start a worldwide revolution. Might as well be us.
WOW . . . . that's a great way to think about how you're going to start your day. I can honestly say, that for the most part, God would be pleased with how I live my live, and have chosen to do what i truly believe God has called me to do. Much love to all, and continued prayers all the way around. Aunt k8
