I was not allowed to tell everyone how Myles lived. His name is Dan. He did not want me to tell anyone what he did, how he saved Myles' life, but I think the time is right. With all of the media surrounding buggies accident, he did not want to be in on all of that. Things have calmed down and I think that only friends and family see this blog.
I'm not too sure how to write about Dan. God placed him in the right place, at the right time, for Myles to live and every time I am in his presecnce, I am in total (don't know what word to use). Dan is a wrestling couch here in Nampa. According to his sweet and loving wife, Jennifer, Dan has never missed a wrestling match in years. That day (2/17/07) Dan decided to not go to his wrestling match. Jennifer says that she couldn't believe that he would miss a match but she accepted his decision, but Dan couldn't explain why. They ended up going to the gas station to get gas, their car was in the next bay of where Myles was. When the explosion happened, everyone was looking at the car and the flames. Out of the corner of Dan's eyes, he saw a flash of flames running. He said that the flames were so big that he could not see what was on fire. Myles ran behind a building, in his frantic, and Dan ran after him. He says that Myles was running so fast that he could not grab him so he tripped him to the ground. He layed his body on top of my son to put out the flames. The flames were so big that they wouldn't go out so he took off his shirt and smothered them. Dan received some burns but not enough to merit hospitalization. This is the first time I have told this story, at Dan's request. He is the heroe from God that was supposed to be there (a guardian angel?). No one else saw buggies on fire and with him running behind a building, would of certainly burned to death. My gratitude to God and Dan is beyond anything that I could write. To Dan, no words can describe my gratitude for you being on this earth, my son is alive because of you. My other son was not charged with manslaughter. He doesn't feel that he has done much, little does he know how much he HAS done for us. THANK YOU DAN!

The Intersection of Love

“Though He was crucified in weakness, yet He lives by the power of God.”
2 Corinthians 13:4 NKJV
The cross. Can you turn any direction without seeing one? Perched atop a chapel. Carved into a graveyard headstone. Engraved in a ring or suspended on a chain. The cross is the universal symbol of Christianity. An odd choice, don’t you think? Strange that a tool of torture would come to embody a movement of hope. The symbols of other faiths are more upbeat: the six-pointed star of David, the crescent moon of Islam, a lotus blossom for Buddhism. Yet a cross for Christianity? An instrument of execution?...
Why is the cross the symbol of our faith? To find the answer look no farther than the cross itself. Its design couldn’t be simpler. One beam horizontal—the other vertical. One reaches out—like God’s love. The other reaches up—as does God’s holiness. One represents the width of his love; the other reflects the height of his holiness. The cross is the intersection. The cross is where God forgave his children without lowering his standards
we'll continue to pray for Myles as he enjoys camp. and we'll continue to praise God for all those that have helped Myles along his path of life. What a blessing Dan is. Have fun Myles!! Enjoy LIFE!! Much love!! Aunt k8
The Angels Offer Worship
Tuesday, June 17, 2008
“All the angels stood around the throne…saying: ‘Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom…be to our God forever and ever.’”
velation 7:11-12 NKJV
Only one sight enthralls angels—God’s face. They know that he is Lord of all. And, as a result, they worship him. Whether in the temple with Isaiah or the pasture with the Bethlehem shepherds, angels worship…
“All the angels stood around the throne…saying: ‘Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom, thanksgiving and honor and power and might, be to our God forever and ever. Amen.’”
Doesn’t their worship proclaim volumes about God’s beauty? Angels could gaze at the Grand Tetons and Grand Canyon, Picasso paintings and the Sistine Chapel, but they choose, instead, to fix their eyes on the glory of God. They can’t see enough of him, and they can’t be silent about what they see.
Hope Myles is having a great, safe vacation! Much love and continued prayers.

WOW!
What a great story. You are right, Dan is the Angel. God has a plan for everyone, Dan's plan was to be with Myles. Thank God for Dan.
Sherry, Myles and you really need this. He is in good hands. Myles needs to know that he is a normal kid. You need to have a Normal life. I know it is hard. I don't think I could do it too but he does need this.
hey, if he can do this, maybe you and Myles can come to VA for a trip next year. We would live to have you all out.
I will put in an extra hard and loud pray to God for the family during this LONG week.
Love you all,
Cecelia
Stubborn Love
Wednesday, June 18, 2008
“My son was dead, but now he is alive again! He was lost but now he is found!”
Luke 15:24
Jesus…summarized God’s stubborn love with a parable. He told about a teenager who decided that life on the farm was too slow for his tastes. So with pockets full of inheritance money, he set out to find the big time. What he found instead were hangovers, fair-weather friends, and long unemployment lines. When he had had just about as much of the pig’s life he could take, he swallowed his pride, dug his hands deep into his empty pockets, and began the long walk home; all the while rehearsing a speech that he planned to give his father.
He never used it. Just when he got to the top of the hill, his father, who’d been waiting at the gate, saw him. The boy’s words of apology were quickly muffled by the father’s words of forgiveness…
If you ever wonder how God can use you to make a difference in your world, …look at the forgiveness found in those open arms and take courage.
Hope all is going well! Our love to Myles, and all as he enjoys his time at camp. Aunt k8
God is Enough

“Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you…My soul will be satisfied with the richest of foods.”
Psalm 63:3, 5 NIV
When it comes to love: Be careful.
Before you walk down the aisle, take a good long look around. Make sure this is God’s intended place for you. And, if you suspect it isn’t, get out. Don’t force what is wrong to be right…Be careful.
And, until love is stirred, let God’s love be enough for you. There are seasons when God allows us to feel the frailty of human love so we’ll appreciate the strength of his love. Didn’t he do this with David? Saul turned on him. Michal, his wife, betrayed him. Jonathan and Samuel were David’s friends, but they couldn’t follow him into the wilderness. Betrayal and circumstances left David alone. Alone with God. And, as David discovered, God was enough. David wrote these words in the desert: “Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you…My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods.”
Much love, and continued prayers to all. Again I hope that Myles is enjoying his time at camp. Kaitlin has been at beach week. We miss her greatly, we hope this provides us with some sense of what it will be like when she is away at college. Much love to all!
The Path of Righteousness
Friday, June 20, 2008
“He leads me in the paths of righteousness.”
Psalm 23:3 NKJV
It was, at once, history’s most beautiful and most horrible moment. Jesus stood in the tribunal of heaven. Sweeping a hand over all creation, he pleaded, “Punish me for their mistakes. See the murderer? Give me his penalty. The adulteress? I’ll take her shame. The bigot, the liar, the thief? Do to me what you would do to them. Treat me as you would a sinner.”
And God did. “For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.” (I Pet. 3:18 NIV)…
The path of righteousness is a narrow, winding trail up a steep hill. At the top of the hill is a cross. At the base of the cross are bags. Countless bags full of innumerable sins. Calvary is the compost pile for guilt. Would you like to leave yours there as well?
I've already dropped my bag! It was WAY too heavy. Hope all is well with all. Continued thoughts and prayers!! Much love ~k8
