Is August an aphrodisiac month? There are so many birthdays in May! Last weekend was Myles and mine's birthdays. Aaron treated us on Sunday (my birthday) to a wonderful dinner in Boise. The restaurant was right on the Boise River which is in it's glory with all of the snow melt. Monday was a tough day (Myles' b-day) as he woke up with his right elbow bleeding again. We were lucky to find a vein in TWO sticks, yeah!!!!! He couldn't use his right arm so we we were limited at what we could do. We went to Aarons and swam in the pool. We even had one arm races which were a lot of fun. We had Tuyet hang on to Aaron's neck to slow him down as even with only using one arm could beat everyone. Myles, Dave, and I went to the Red Robin after we left Aaron's for a birthday dessert (We so love Dave) and they actually embarassed him which is a very hard thing to do.
We will know more about our options with Myles' arm next week. After much talking with Salt Lake City, I have decided to let him go to burn camp (yikes!!). The nurse that is going on the rafting trip has promised to take him under her wing. Myles is great at reconstituting his factor and can guide her to the best veins to try. This camp is going to be so great for him as he has stopped wearing his pressure garments so talking with other teenagers about their experiences in High School will be something that he can not learn any where else. I am so excited about him going and so nervous.
Love to all

My prayers for Myles are without ceasing! I hope you can feel them. YOU remain as always, in my thoughts and prayers. AND MY love remains UNCHANGED!! K8
Dear Myles;
I know it's been awhile since I have written. But not a hour goes by that I don't think about you. When your Mom posted the last upsetting blog about your elbow. And how it might effect your ability to play golf. I prayed very hard. I know that there is more to life then golf. But when it is in your blood, it's very hard to get over it. Mostly if there is something impeding it. So I have been praying very hard for you. Myles as I've wrote to you before. Life is a crap shoot. Not all things go our way, but for sure all things go Gods way. That might sound like a cop out, but it's not. That is how I have to look at my life everyday. I'm a father of 4 and a grandfather of 16 with another one on the way. I have worked very hard at raising my children. It's not easy ask your Mom. I have showed them love, kindness, and the stick a lot. They have brought some heart ache, some head aches, and some what the hell are you thinking aches. But they are my children and I would lie down my life for them. Now as a Grandfather it is the same. You met my grandson Jeremy. He has lived with me is whole life, and so has his brother Dylan. This is what I wanted. It was not thrust upon me. I chose to have them with me, and they will be with me until they chose to move out. But that will not happen for years to come. My house sometimes looks like a kindercare hangout. There will be 10 or more grandkids at my home. 8 or more adults hanging around. This is a time for the adults (meaning my kids) to express the financial woe’s. And as I always do. I hide. But then I come out find out what is going on. Then see how I can help. This is who I am. I am A male Ganley. We are not prefect. Your Dad is not perfect. But I know your Dad loves you very much. Inside him is a hurt young boy. Why? you should ask him this. I don’t understand why he hides form you. But in no way does that mean he does not love you. Why have I brought all this up to you Myles. Its because some people are making statements on your bolg to voice their opinion. You Myles are a male, and yes you are a Ganley. And yes Myles you will be a great Father to your children. This I know, because so many male Ganleys are. So when someone post something to your blog to hit at us. Pray for them. They no not what they do.
I love you and think, and pray for you always.
Uncle Ned-Ed
What Will You Bring?
Thursday, May 29, 2008
“If we confess our sins, he will forgive our sins, because we can trust God to do what is right.”
I John 1:9
In order for the cross of Christ to be the cross of your life, you and I need to bring something to the hill.
We have seen what Jesus brought. With scarred hands he offered forgiveness. Through torn skin he promised acceptance. He took the path to take us home. He wore our garment to give us his own. We have seen the gifts he brought.
Now we ask, what will we bring? . . .
Why don’t you start with your bad moments?
Those bad habits? Leave them at the cross.
Your selfish moods and white lies? Give them to God. Your binges and bigotries? God wants them all. Every flop, every failure. He wants every single one. Why? Because he knows we can’t live with them.
This devotion really says it all. SELFISH moods, BAD moments, bad decisions, etc. LEAVE them at the cross. Hope all is well. Happy Birthday, it looks like you had a great time. Continue to heal Myles. and take care! YOU are loved. Continued prayers for you, and your family! Much love! Aunt k8
Dear Myles,
Your birthday looked like fun. I thought about you this past weekend, knowing it was just a year ago we were all together. Time does goes by so quickly. I Pray every day that you are blessed. We all have to go through times of troubles (some more than others - you) but we get through them some how. GOD! You say to yourself you feel along, God answers by saying "I will never leave you or forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5) God is always with you.
I know your Mom is going to worry everyday you are at camp but I think it will be the perfect thing for you. To see that you are not alone.
May God continue to bless you and your family.

Each Day Matters

“You were chosen to tell about the excellent qualities of God.”
I Peter 2:9
Let’s spend a lifetime making our heavenly Father proud.
Use your uniqueness to do so. You exited the womb called. Don’t see yourself as a product of your parents’ DNA, but rather as a brand-new idea from heaven.
Make a big deal out of God. Become who you are for him! Has he not transferred you from a dull, death-destined life to a rich, heaven-bound adventure?
Remember, “You were chosen to tell about the excellent qualities of God.” And do so every day of your life.
With God, every day matters, every person counts.
And that includes you.
WOW, if you doubt that . . . read the bible, it was written JUST FOR YOU! We love you Myles! Our love to the entire family! Aunt K8
Uncle Tom;
Wow. I just read Uncle Ned-Ed's comment, and he hit the nail on the head. I too am a male Ganley. As you know I have a daughter Deirdre that you have meet many times. Her birthday was the 26th of April. She had a sleep over at my house and it was a blast. The girls were all dancing and having a great time. We even had the cops here cus a very mean lady thought the music was to loud. But that gave all the girls more to talk about at school the following Monday.
Any hoot I am glad to see a smile on your face and I know in my heart you will be playing golf soon again. As I will. I got my cast off friday and I am just swing a club. My hand is still tender and so I will not be able to play yet for may be an other week or so. It may be bad golf but still the same it is golf and a walk in the park. You take care and tell Aaron and Tuyet, Tom's said hi.
The Flagship of Patience
Monday, June 02, 2008
“Love is patient.”
I Corinthians 13:4
Paul presents patience as the premier expression of love. Positioned at the head of the apostle’s Love Armada—a boat-length or two in front of kindness, courtesy, and forgiveness—the flagship known as patience. “Love is patient.”
The Greek word used here for patience is a descriptive one. It figuratively means “taking a long time to boil.” Think about a pot of boiling water. What factors determine the speed at which it boils? The size of the stove? No. The pot? The utensil may have an influence, but the primary factor is the intensity of the flame. Water boils quickly when the flame is high. It boils slowly when the flame is low. Patience “keeps the burner down.”
Helpful clarification, don’t you think? Patience isn’t naïve. It doesn’t ignore misbehavior. It just keeps the flame low. It waits. It listens. It’s slow to boil. This is how God treats us. And, according to Jesus, this is how we should treat others.
Continued prayers for all! Kaitlin Turns 18 on Friday . .. OUCH!!! Can't believe it! Much love! Aunt k8
Our Servant Master
Wednesday, June 04, 2008
“The Son of Man did not come to be served. He came to serve others and to give His life a ransom for many people.”
Matthew 20:28
As a young boy, I read a Russian fable about a master and a servant who went on a journey to a city. Many of the details I’ve forgotten but the ending I remember. Before the two men could reach the destination they were caught in a blinding blizzard. They lost their direction and were unable to reach the city before nightfall.
The next morning concerned friends went searching for the two men. They finally found the master, frozen to death, face down in the snow. When they lifted him they found the servant—cold but alive. He survived and told how the master has voluntarily placed himself on top of the servant so the servant could live. I hadn’t thought of that story in years. But when I read what Christ said he would do for us, the story surfaced—for Jesus is the master who died for the servants.
WOW . .. now that's a great story!! Much love and continued prayers for all. K8
A Second Transformation
Thursday, June 05, 2008
“We shall all be changed—in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye.”
I Corinthians 15:51-52
“I am with you always” are the words of a God who in one instant did the impossible to make it all possible for you and me. (Matt. 28:20)
It all happened in a moment. In one moment…a most remarkable moment. The Word became flesh.
There will be another. The world will see another instantaneous transformation. You see, in becoming man, God made it possible for man to see God. When Jesus went home he left the back door open. As a result, “we shall all be changed—in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye.”
The first moment of transformation went unnoticed by the world. But you can bet your sweet September that the second one won’t.
Isn't that the truth!! It may have been unnoticed, but we sure have been talking about it for over two thousand years. Much love, and continued prayers for ALL!! Aunt k8
Travel Light
Friday, June 06, 2008
“Give all your worries to him, because he cares about you.”
I Peter 5:7
God has a great race for you to run. Under his care you will go where you’ve never been and serve in ways you’ve never dreamed. But you have to drop some stuff. How can you share grace if you are full of guilt? How can you offer comfort if you are disheartened? How can you lift someone else’s load if your arms of full with your own?
For the sake of those you love, travel light.
For the sake of the God you serve, travel light.
For the sake of you own joy, travel light.
There are certain weights in life you simply cannot carry. Your Lord is asking you to set them down and trust him.
Good morning! Hope all is well with all of you! Today is my Kaitlin Shea's 18th birthday . . .OUCH! I can not believe that 18 years has passed since she entered our lives. Birthday today, and graduation on monday. WOW. Much love and continued prayers today!! ~k8
Taking Inventory
Monday, June 09, 2008
“Don’t you know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you?”
I Corinthians 3:18
All believers have God in their heart. But not all believers have given their whole heart to God. Remember, the question is not, how can I have more of the Spirit? But rather, how can the Spirit have more of me? Take inventory. As you look around your life, do you see any resistant pockets?...Go down the list…
Your tongue. Do you tend to stretch the truth? Puff up the facts? Your language? Is your language a sewer of profanities and foul talk? And grudges? Do you keep resentments parked in your “garudge”? Are you unproductive and lazy? Do you live off the system, assuming that the church or the country should take care of you?...
Do your actions interrupt the flow of the Spirit in you life
Hope all is well with all of you. Northern virginia is HOT HOT HOT. We're already having a heat wave. We went from beautiful spring to hot hot hot hot summer! Today Kaitlin Graduates from High School. CRAZY! I can't believe it. Hope I survive the day! LOL. Much love and continued prayers to all!

The Clothing of the Cross
Tuesday, June 10, 2008
“He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness.”
I Peter 2:24 NIV
When Christ was nailed to the cross, he took off his robe of seamless perfection and assumed a different wardrobe, the wardrobe of indignity.
The indignity of nakedness. Stripped before his own mother and loved ones. Shamed before his family.
The indignity of failure. For a few pain-filled hours, the religious leaders were the victors, and Christ appeared the loser. Shamed before his accusers.
Worst of all, he wore the indignity of sin. “He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness.”
The clothing of Christ on the cross? Sin—yours and mine. The sins of all humanity.
Well, we survived Kaitlin's graduation, even in the intense HEAT. I can't believe she has graduated, and is on her way to College. She's home until Sunday, then off to the beach, home for about 2weeks, then off to Italy for 10days, home again for two weeks and then off to UVA-Wise. OUCH> WOW, sniff, sniff, MUch love and continued prayers to all! Aunt k8
The God You Need
Wednesday, June 11, 2008
“The LORD created the heavens. He is the God who formed the earth and made it.”
Isaiah 45:18
You don’t need what Dorothy found. Remember her discovery in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz? She and her trio followed the yellow-brick road only to discover that the wizard was a wimp! Nothing but smoke and mirrors and tin-drum thunder. Is that the kind of god you need?
You don’t need to carry the burden of a lesser god…a god on a shelf, a god in a box, or a god in a bottle. No, you need a God who can place 100 billion stars in our galaxy and 100 billion galaxies in the universe. You need a God who can shape two fists of flesh into 75 to 100 billion nerve cells, each with as many as 10,00- connections to other nerve cells, place it in a skull, and call it a brain.
And you need a God who, while so mind-numbingly mighty, can come in the soft of night and touch you with the tenderness of an April snow.
Hope all is well! We survived the heat wave! It's 72 degrees this morning in northern va. But the humidity is much less today. Thank Goodness. It's been horrible!! Hope that you're enjoying the end of your spring, and the beginning of a great summer. Much love, and continued prayers!! ~k8
The Big Choice is Ours
Thursday, June 12, 2008
“Come to me…and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11:28
It is possible to learn much about God’s invitation and never respond to it personally. Yet his invitation is clear and nonnegotiable. He gives all and we give him all. Simple and absolute. He is clear in what he asks and clear in what he offers. The choice is up to us.
Isn’t it incredible that God leaves the choice to us? Think about it. There are many things in life we can’t choose. We can’t, for example, choose the weather. We can’t control the economy.
We can’t choose whether or not we are born with a big nose or blue eyes or a lot of hair. We can’t even choose how people respond to us.
But we can choose where we spend eternity. The big choice, God leaves to us. The critical decision is ours.
What are you doing with God’s invitation
Hey Myles. You would have been sad last night. Our German Shorthair pointer was sick sick sick. She's a beautiful 75 lb baby. We were worried!! I know you would have helped us bring her back to health!! We love her!! she's a little better today, but it was a hard hard night. I'm a little tired. Much love and continued prayers to all! Aunt k8
God Sees What We Can’t
Friday, June 13, 2008
“No one is like the LORD our God, who rules from heaven.”
Psalm 113:5
On a trip to the United Kingdom, our family visited a castle. In the center of the garden sat a maze. Row after row of shoulder-high hedges, leading to one dead end after another. Successfully navigate the labyrinth, and discover the door to a tall tower in the center of the garden. Were you to look at our family pictures of the trip, you’d see four of our five family members standing on top of the tower. Hmmm, someone is still on the ground. Guess who? I was stuck in the foliage. I just couldn’t figure out which way to go.
Ah, but then I heard a voice from above. “Hey, Dad.” I looked up to see Sara, peering through the turret at the top. “You’re going the wrong way. Back up and turn right.”
Do you think I trusted her? I didn’t have to. But do you know what I did? I listened. Her vantage point was better than mine. She was above the maze. She could see what I couldn’t.
Don’t you think we should do the same with God?
You bet we should!! Hey Myles, Sherry and Aaron . .. Happy Friday the 13th!! :o) Have a great day! Much love and continued prayers to all!
