I don't think that I can come up with the words to describe the ending of this year. I know that it will not be one of those uneventful years that you really don't remember anything "that happened that year". It almost seems that a lifetime has existed in 2007 with every emotion that one can have in a complete lifetime. Fear, pain, sorrow, joy, love, hate, faith, hope, helplessness, despair, compassion, hopelessness, strength....................there is more I'm sure. If we have ever felt that we have survived and succeeded it is now. I truly believe that if Aaron, Tuyet, Myles, and I have triumphed over 2007, we can survive anything that comes in our path in our futures (excuse me, I had to knock on wood). We know that we could not of done this without all of you, your love, prayers, support, and strength, that everyone has given us will never be forgotten. We are all healing in body, mind, and spirit. To a NEW year. May it be a very uneventful one for all of us.

Our Sure God

“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.”
Psalm 23:6 NKJV
Look at the first word: surely. David didn’t say, “Maybe goodness and mercy shall follow me.” Or “Possibly goodness and mercy shall follow me.” Or “I have a hunch that goodness and mercy shall follow me.” David could have used one of those phrases. But he didn’t. He believed in a sure God, who makes sure promises and provides a sure foundation. David would have loved the words of one his great-great-grandsons, the apostle James. He described God as the one “with whom there is never the slightest variation or shadow of inconsistency” (James 1:17 Phillips).
Our moods may shift, but God’s doesn’t. Our minds may change, but God’s doesn’t. Our devotion may falter, but God’s never does. Even if we are faithless, he is faithful, for he cannot betray himself (2 Tim. 2:13). He is a sure God.
Oh my Gosh Myles . . . you're beautiful. You look FABULOUS!! You are a miracle, of modern miracles. God is good!! Much love, continued prayers, AND Happy New Year. To each and every one of you.

The Lord Is With Me
Wednesday, January 02, 2008
“You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”
Psalm 23:4 NKJV
“You are with me.”
Yes, you, Lord, are in heaven. Yes, you rule the universe. Yes, you sit upon the stars and make your home in the deep. But yes, yes, yes, you are with me.
The Lord is with me. The Creator is with me. Yahweh is with me.
Moses proclaimed it: “What great nation has a god near to them as the Lord our God is near to us” (Deut. 4:7 NLT).
Paul announced it: “He is not far from each one of us” (Acts 17:27 NIV).
And David discovered it: “You are with me.”
Somewhere in the pasture, wilderness, or palace, David discovered that God meant business when he said: “I will not leave you” (Gen. 28:15).
If nothing else, take comfort in the fact that GOD is with you always. Look what he helped you with! What a blessing you are!

Loaded with Love

“He…loads me with love and mercy.”
Psalm 103:4
It’s time to let God’s love cover all things in your life. All secrets. All hurts. All hours of evil, minutes of worry.
The morning you awoke in the bed of a stranger? His love will cover that. The years you peddled prejudice and pride? His love will cover that. Every promise broken, drug taken, penny stolen. Every cross word, cuss word, and harsh word. His love covers all things.
Let it. Discover along with the psalmist: “He…loads me with love and mercy.” Picture a giant dump truck full of love. There you are behind it. God lifts the bed until the love starts to slide. Slowly at first, then down, down, down until you are hidden, buried, covered in his love.
“Hey, where are you?” someone asks.
“In here, covered in love.”
That's a good thought! When I see you Myles in that picture, that's exactly what I see . . . God's love and mercy, YOU"RE COVERED!!

The Author of Life

“He who was dead sat up and began to speak. And [Jesus] presented him to his mother.
Luke 7:15 NKV
The mourners didn’t cause him to stop. Nor did the large crowd, or even the body of the dead man on the stretcher. It was the woman—the look on her face and the redness in her eyes. He knew immediately what was happening. It was her son who was being carried out, her only son. And if anyone knows the pain of losing your only son, God does.
So he did it; he went into action. “Don’t cry” he told the mother. “Arise!” he told the boy. The dead man spoke, the devil ran, and the people were reminded of this truth: For those who know the Author of Life, death is nothing more than Satan’s dead-man’s-bluff.
